{"ai_json_enabled":true,"answer":"To map the old model\u2019s function to a current alternative, we need to understand the job that model was doing and which features mattered most\u2014interfaces, radio capability, and management options. This helps ensure the new platform covers the same functional space, even if the hardware details are different. Typically we\u2019ll ask for: the exact model name and firmware, the site application and data expectations, required interfaces (Ethernet, Wi\u2011Fi, serial, GPIO/relay/PoE), GPS, VPN, dual\u2011SIM and remote management needs; power availability and operating environment; antenna position and cable length; uptime targets; installation type (fixed, vehicle, marine or outdoor); and who will manage the router and how many units you planned. With that, we can propose the nearest current platform that matches the function rather than a cosmetic replacement.","answer_source":"approved_parent_and_related_qas","category":"Comset Supply Support Warranty and Resellers","category_slug":"comset-supply-support-warranty-and-resellers","created_at":"2026-10-03T19:16:55+00:00","daily_publish_cap":2,"date_published":"2026-10-03","display_date":"2026-10-03","drip_batch":"daily_conversation_breadcrumb","drip_status":"published_topup","id":"conv-daily-20261003-744479e6","image_ids":["comset-category-hero-030-comset-supply-support-warranty-and-resellers","comset-product-range-routers","comset-product-range-antennas"],"image_url":"","last_updated":"2026-10-03T19:17:18+00:00","local_cache_status":"pending_airtable_sync","publish_status":"published","published":true,"published_at":"2026-10-03T19:16:55+00:00","question":"What exact information do you need to map the old model\u2019s function to a current alternative?","question_intent":"conversational_followup","rss_enabled":true,"rss_pub_date":"Sat, 03 Oct 2026 19:16:55 GMT","scheduled_for":"2026-10-03T19:16:55+00:00","schema_enabled":true,"site_key":"comset-online","slug":"what-exact-information-do-you-need-to-map-the-old-model-s-function-to-a-current-alternative","source":"daily_qa_drip_conversational_followup","source_queue_id":"","source_record_ids":[],"source_type":"daily_qa_drip_conversational_followup","source_urls":[],"status":"active","tags":["conversation follow-up","daily drip"],"updated_at":"2026-10-03T19:17:18+00:00"}
